PROFILIT U-PROFILED GLASS

Profilit (formerly known as Reglit) is a specialist glass system manufactured by Pilkington. The Pilkington Profilit U-profiled glass system is a highly versatile, modular construction material.

Profilit™ is a U shaped channel glass previously supplied to the UK market under the brand name Reglit glass. In standard configurations it is set within a perimeter aluminium frame in singular or double glazed format. The modular nature of the Profilit U-profiled glass system renders it a flexible design component perfect for inclusion within both exterior and interior projects.

Pilkington Profilit™ U-profiled glass can be set straight or to a curve with a slim profile width available to achieve a tight radii. Panels can be installed in vertical or horizontal lines, rake cut or following a slant.

PILKINGTON PROFILIT U-PROFILED GLASS TYPES AND FINISHES

Profilit™ is available in two distinct ranges, standard and low iron, with variable aesthetic and performance options for both as well as two profile specifications and various panel widths. The glass can also be toughened and insulated. It is produced in Pilkington’s state of the art facilities across the globe.

PILKINGTON PROFILIT SYSTEM ASSEMBLY

Standard systems have a modular nature and are generally composed of Profilit™ channel glass panels in vertical or horizontal configuration contained within a perimeter aluminium frame. The result is a high performing glazing system offering minimal framework, structural strength, light transmission, daylighting properties and favourable U/G values with the capacity to be insulated.

Bespoke systems with full design support from Topglass are also possible and can contain staggered glass formations, triple glazing, open ‘airflow’ systems, drill and bolt or alternative fixings.

Two main profiles of Profilit glass are available - (K32 and K25) a glass thickness of 6mm and flange height of 41mm for standard glazing applications and (K32/60/7, K25/60/7 and K22/60/7) a glass thickness of 7mm, flange height of 60mm where the installation must withstand high lateral loads.
