Holiday Inn Heathrow, London

Delivered by McAleer & Rushe and designed by White Ink Architects, the Holiday Inn project at Bath Road, Heathrow features an expansive installation of our Pilkington Profilit Glass to the facade.  Our glass is utilised as an opaque insulated glass cladding system. K25/60/7 low iron glass was specified in a double glazed format, with sandblasting to the inner face of the external skin and TiMax insulation material installed within the glass cavity.

Back-lit by night this choice of finish perfectly diffuses and distributes light across the glass face acting as a beacon, highlighting the hotel and giving it a highly visible identity within its surroundings. The almost twin elevations of white glass lend the development a symmetry which is recognisible when viewed from multiple angles.

A complementary supporting structure for signage was achieved using aluminium panels, with a width mirroring the glass planks, poly powder coated in white.
