Team Topglass during funds handover with Cancer Focus NI
Charity Endeavours a Clear 'Focus' for Topglass

Team Topglass has raised over £4k for its charity partner of the year, Cancer Focus Northern Ireland. Throughout the year our team raised funds via a variety of individual and team fundraising activities - the total was then matched by the company. These initiatives included; participation in the Fun Run of the Glens; a football tournament hosted by our parent group; and a team from Topglass spending a day apprenticing at a working farm! ,Cathy Loughlin, Head of Topglass’ Social & Charity Committee, said “We are delighted once again by the efforts and generosity of our team. Each year our charity selection is led by a staff nomination and voting process to ensure that the team has an affinity with the cause ultimately selected to be our charity partner for the year. This collective dedication is clear in the way everyone has come together over the last twelve months to make a difference and raise vital funds totalling £4,106.00 – while managing to have a good laugh along the way!”,“Our charity efforts also extend to raising awareness within our own team. Throughout the year we have marked national cancer awareness days, shared facts, figures and helpful resources in a bid to increase our own knowledge and understanding. During our partnership Cancer Focus NI has been on hand to offer support, fundraising materials and ideas so it really has been mutually beneficial and we would like to extend our thanks to them.”,Meg McKeown, Corporate Fundraising Officer at Cancer Focus NI said, “A massive thank you to the fantastic team at Topglass for making this corporate partnership such a success. Every day in Northern Ireland, another 37 people are told “You have cancer”. It is one of the most devastating moments anyone can experience, either for themselves or for someone they love. And thanks to fundraising, it does not have to be a lonely journey.,With all monies raised remaining right here in Northern Ireland to support local people, the £4,106 will go a long way at our charity and help provide cancer support services. The total raised by Topglass could pay for over 50 Counselling sessions for people with a cancer diagnosis or help deliver over 70 hours of Family Support during a distressing and isolating time.”,If you or someone you know has any concerns about cancer, please speak to one of the charity’s experienced nurses. You can phone the free information and support Nurseline on 0800 783 3339.
