We are delighted to announce that Topglass has recently became a member of the UK industry body, ‘The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF)’. Our involvement with the industry body began last year when we played a key role in developing new technical documentation for the specialist glass system, Pilkington Profilit. The resulting data sheets were launched in June and are available on the GGF’s website and via the links below. Our new membership further cements this relationship and amplifies Topglass’ voice within the industry.
The GGF is the leading authority within the glazing industry, promoting best practice and helping shape the highest technical and health and safety standards.
Topglass worked alongside the GGF with other industry professionals to produce documentation for ‘Channel' or 'U-Profiled' Glass, a fifty plus year old product. The production of this industry accredited guidance is seen as an essential development given the very specialist nature of the glass and its unique physical properties. Architectural specifiers and building control bodies will now have access to these guidelines and will refer to them to ensure safe and appropriate usage.
General Manager, Gary Lennon said, “We were delighted to work with the GGF over the last year and to now have joined them as a member. It’s a critical time for the wider construction industry as a whole. We all need to come together and take responsibility for industry reform. The changes which we implement now must have the longevity to carry us into the future. Our position as a member of the GGF will afford us a seat at the table as well as the benefit of the collective knowledge of our peers and other industry professionals.”
