Design Manager

Job Title: Design Manager

The role is based at the Company’s head office in Toomebridge. The successful Applicant will be responsible for successfully managing the delivery of all aspects of Design.

He / She will have the opportunity to develop their Design & Management experience whilst adding value to a highly motivated and results driven team.

 

Main Duties/Activities:

Responsible for Design and Technical Functions within the company.

Manage the development, training and expansion of the current Design Team.

Regular reporting to Senior Management Team.

Maintaining thorough documentation of all processes:

Drawing / Technical Submissions

RFI’s

Bill’s of Materials / Procurement Schedules

Structural Calculations

Production / Installation packs

Working with clients to ensure their requirements are fulfilled and expectation met.

Keeping up to date with changing legislation and codes of practice to ensure compliance.

Requires a thorough understanding of technical, regulatory and commercial issues as well as pure design considerations.

Provide Design and Technical Support to other departments.

Sales & Estimating

Contracts

Procurement

Commercial

Develop land and marine based glazing systems and solutions supporting other companies within the group.

Implementation and continual development of Integrated Management System.

To undertake travel as part of the role.

Other duties as directed, which fall within the reasonable remit of the job description.

 

Desirable Criteria:

A minimum of 5 years working in a similar role within the aluminium fabrication facade industry.

Experience of ISO Quality Management Systems.

In depth estimating, design, production & installation knowledge of glazing façade systems such as Schuco, Metal Technology and Aluprof.

Working knowledge of Logikal, Schucal and Conquest.

CAD proficient.

3rd level education in construction related discipline

CSE or equivalent qualification in English and Maths

Good computer literacy including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel

Excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent planning and organisational skills

 

Renumeration:

Commensurate with experience
